Absolutely the best value for your money for BBQ in Columbia, TN. The BBQ pork is outstanding, the sauce is as well. But the real value-add is the portions of pork they put on their sandwiches for the money. Their regular pulled pork sandwich, around $5, is a MEAL…a man’s meal. They are not stingy with their pork at all but truly generous. Also, their loaded baked potatoes are incredible and HUGE. Best BBQ in Columbia, hands down.

First time eating here and it seems to be very popular as there were vehicles backed up on the highway waiting to turn into the driveway. Most were driving through the drive-thru yet we chose to park and go inside. There was someone on foot taking orders from the drivers waiting for the drive up window. We had a small wait to get in the door and before we could place our order. We chose a pound of pulled pork with three sides that came with buns for four people and BBQ sauce. We also chose iced tea to drink. The pulled pork was fairly tender and had a decent flavor but not the best we ever had. We chose the two types of slaw they had and both were great. The beans were so-so. The overall price was quite a bit more than we were expecting. The seating inside was cramped and we chose to eat outside which was nicely setup but the noise from the traffic was very loud. I am pretty sure this place will be moving to a better location with many followers.

Glad to know that when I pay extra for something it's actually provided. I HATE coming to JJs, but I wanted a potato and it was close. I already know not to order anything except generic things like regular potatoes or a salad cuz their sauce tastes disgusting as all get out and the meat isn't that great either. Smh. Do better columbia. This place is trash just like this town. Definitely my last time coming. I'll just wait until I get home and make a potato next time. I don't know who needs to hear this, but this is not a good BBQ place. Drive further and stick with Shaffer's.

Last weekend my wife brought me a catfish tray home to try, (never had JJs before) it was incredible!! Had to have it again for lunch. Did a mobile order. As we started driving away i wanted my corn muffin but wife said there wasn’t one and the fries were insanely hard and inedible. i turned back around and they were nice enough to accommodate, i even purchased 2 more corn muffins because they were great...get all the way home (Santa Fe) ready to dig in, but there was barely any fish at all!. My last time there was 3x as much, while this might qualify as a kids meal, it certainly wasn’t worth $11. I understand inflation is affecting everyone, but this was just flat out ridiculous. I do feel bad for having to give a 2 star rating, when last week it was definitely a 5. You gotta understand, i’ve been craving this literally all week, and the food was still delicious....just didn’t meet my expectation.

I love the pulled pork, the customer service is top notch. I don't care for the way the parking lot is set up. It's a pain to get out when the drive thru is full. Very crowded inside. I recommend taking your order elsewhere to eat.

So, we moved up to Spring Hill last Easter from Chattanooga. We've been craving BBQ since then as well. My mother in law sent me a writeup saying how JJ's is some awesome bbq.. So, a few monhs go by and I drive by JJ's , but I'm in a hurry so wait. Well, week before last I believe, I pulled in and ordered a family pack from my car as they don't do call ins... understand, I guess I could have called and ask about their products before blindly ordering. Maybe the local yocals know what they want . Makes sense. So, a family pack of 4 is rather scandalous as far as price. As far as the food check it out: Pork- lots of fat and seemed over handled or overcooked. Rather mushy Slaw- finely chopped and rather bland and generic Beans- again taste like can beans with spices added. Maybe not. The lack of bell peppers, onion , or pork turned us away. No pickle! Had to ask myself if I was on the West coast lol. BBQ on the coast results in no pickle also. Ultimately, some may love it , but it was comparable to gas station bbq if I must . Next time anyone reading this is in Chattanooga TN... Google PURPLE DASIY BBQ ( St. Elmo) or better yet Bama Boys BBQ atop Sand Mtn in Henegar, AL. Both these places charge around $20-25 for a family of 4 . Both produce some of the best food period. Plenty others in Chatt-town but these have been our favorite since they opened. Seems like Nashville has the chicken scene covered but BBQ has been impossible. Even tried the expensive place in Spring Hill. Truthfully, we're learning how to do without until we go back to Chattanooga every 3 or 4 weeks. Sad, because we used to get to devour BBQ once a week. Wish JJ's was better. Can't pay double for what they offer tho. Seeing reviews saying their the best bang for the buck and how great UT tastes... ... ... We are all different but I invite you to explore the world outside of Columbia. Imagine growing up next to a water treatment facility or a chicken farm. Outsiders would be offended by the odors. Yet, you would happily refer to it as "God's country".
